Newport, NH has a separate and unique history that has been largely forgotten about. What this project aims to do is to not only look at what came before the Finns, but what the Finns actually did on a day to day basis in Newport. This part of the project looks at some of the unique cultural additions the Finns added to Newport. While Newport was not the only “Finn town” in the United States, it was one of the largest in New Hampshire. The following pages will look at boarding houses, saunas and Finn Park.
