Finnish Halls

Many of these photographs about the Finnish Hall are from newspaper clippings. This is because when the Finnish Hall in Newport was opened it attracted several headlines. In later decades, newspapers usually talked about the Finnish Hall when it was about attempts to preserve it. Sadly the building was demolished. Photographs of the Finn Hall that are not from newspaper clippings seem to show a rather derelict building. It looks like it had started to go into disrepair due to lack of use, but it does not explain the mess that is left behind, and it is currently a mystery. All photographs are from the Richards Free Library in Newport, NH.
