About the Author

My name is Maria Isabel, I am 21 years young and a Senior Political Science Major and History Minor at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Although I am counting down the days to my graduation in May, (woo – hoo!) I am working hard to make every last second of my time here at Midwestern count. I currently serve as the Student Body President for my institution, where I have essentially flourished and fell in love with Student Affairs and Development because of Student Government.  At Midwestern, I have served in multiple leadership positions through SGA, Sigma Lambda Alpha Sorority, Inc., as well as the Organization of Hispanic Students as their Founding President in order to continue giving back to my community.

In the near future I would like to further my education by pursuing my Masters Degree in Student Development and Orientation as well as Political Science.

This website is to serve as a living day to day record of the progress I make in regards to my research project with COPLAC during the Fall 2017 semester. Working on this project alone has been a difficult experience, considering the rest of what I have on my plate during my senior year but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I appreciate everyone’s support that has pushed me along the way, and hope you enjoy this site!
