Maggie is in her final year at Truman State University, with a B.S. in Sociology and minors in Applied Linguistics and French. She received a Critical Language Scholar to study Kiswahili in Arusha, Tanzania in 2016 and studied in La Réunion, France in 2017. She hopes that this project, Moment in Migration, will serve as a vehicle to communicate the stories of immigrants to a wider audience.
Alex is a senior at Truman State University majoring in Anthropology and minoring in French. She has volunteered at the Adair County Historical Society as an archival assistant for the past two years and has enjoyed learning about the history of Kirksville during her time there. She wants this project to serve as a tool for education and understanding among different groups of people who call the same place home, so that it may foster a sense of compassion and appreciation for diversity within communities.
