as I seek to understand the phenomenon of migration and how past migration has had a direct impact on contemporary migration patterns within my rural Minnesota community of Stevens County. By showcasing and connecting the migration history of the local Apostolic movement at the turn of the 20th century to the present trend in Hispanic migration, I hope readers will be able to set aside current immigration rhetoric and take the time to contemplate their own histories. Each one of us is a part of a migration story. I believe that by looking at our own histories, the borders and walls within our communities can be broken down as we begin to look beyond our individual lives and see each other as fellow sojourners on a journey through life.
